QSFP112400G·since 2022 (QSFP112 MSA), 2024 (broad platform availability)

QSFP112: 400G in a QSFP envelope — four lanes of 100G PAM4.

QSFP112 (QSFP MSA, IEEE 802.3ck / 802.3cu). Four electrical lanes at 100 Gbps PAM4 — same 4-lane topology as QSFP28 and QSFP56, scaled to 100G per lane. CMIS-based management. The primary 400G form factor for new data-center fabric and the natural migration target for QSFP28-capable platforms. QSFP-DD800 is an alternative 8-lane 400G/800G form factor on select hyperscale platforms (see notes).

Operational notes

QSFP112 uses the same mechanical envelope as QSFP28 but requires a host with 100G PAM4-capable SerDes — older QSFP28 cages will not accept QSFP112 modules at 400G.
400ZR and 400ZR+ modules can draw 15–18 W. Verify chassis per-port power budget before populating every cage with coherent optics.
PAM4 sensitivity to dirty connectors is real — 400G installs warrant a fiber scope and a click-cleaner per port.
NetAPI also sells the 400G QSFP-DD form factor (8-lane variant) — pick QSFP-DD if your switch has QSFP-DD cages or you need migration headroom toward QSFP-DD800.
